In the summer of 2023, the summer before my senior year at Auburn, I earned the opportunity to work for Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC). Working for such an impressive firm was an honor and helped me grow exponentially professionally and personally.
I spent the summer of 2023 learning aspects of design I had never been exposed to. The large-scale projects GMC works on were so interesting to be involved with, as many studio projects are done on a smaller scale and individually.
One of my favorite projects to be a part of during my summer internship at GMC was the United Ability's new learning center in Birmingham, Alabama. United Ability provides innovative services to people with disabilities and employers individuals to live full lives. Being involved in this process was such a privilege.
Aside from the technical skills I acquired during my time at GMC, I also was able to personally connect with many material representatives, furniture representatives, and designers; a few of which can be seen below.
